DESIGN DEVELOPMENTThis bomber jacket was developed from a basic men’s shirt pattern. After drafting and testing it with scrap muslin, I graded it up several sizes and adjusted the sleeve proportions. I incorporated two lip pockets on the front, maximizing their capacity without sacrificing the jacket's aesthetic. These adjustments transformed the initial shirt pattern into a refined and functional bomber jacket design.
GARMENT DESCRIPTION The Shell jacket is constructed using Sheep Nappa. The lining is made entirely of poplin. An oversized pattern was created using a standard mens jacket pattern. The jacket features a shirt collar and top stitching along the collar and the jacket. Clean construction lines can be seen all over the jacket. The zipper has an antique finish and the jacket features 2 double lip pockets.

For my first unisex garment, I explored proportions to offer versatile styling options. Though the brief was to design a basic bomber jacket, the challenge lay in optimizing leather usage while achieving a seamless back panel. Crafting patterns with the final material in mind was a unique experience, pushing me to refine my skills in material efficiency and design precision for an impactful, functional outcome.
